Watched The Brave One last night and yeah, I did not like. The acting was decent and thats about it. SPOILERS AHEAD! I mean I was thinking half way through the film that it was going to be a dream sequence or a trick ending where she really died or was stuck in a coma still. So Jodie Foster gets her ass kicked by some thugs and her boyfriend is beaten to death. Obviously when she gets out she’s a bit paranoid, she buys a gun yada, yada, yada. Ok on track, she goes to the market and some guy busts caps the cashier hears her breathing and she panics and caps him. Then later on some punks pull a knife on her in the subway and she caps them too. WTH? So let me get this straight, she is beaten to a pulp, and then later is about to be gunned down and then later knifed? Oh and when she starts blastin away there is not a witness around for miles. Look, NY is dangerous, just like DC is dangerous and Chicago, not denying. Hell, just being alive is a damn dangerous endeavor but what are these people trying to say? It’s not like she’s slummin it either, she got a nice apartment, has her own radio show. Really? Are they trying to scare people from going to NY? I mean what was the point? Maybe it some sort of reverse tourism act. The habitants of NY are tired of country bumpkins showing up in their fair city so they sponsor this movie to make NY look like the most dangerous place EVAR! Now all the hoity-toity trendy people can have the island all themselves w/o fear of running to an overweight cow in overalls and a “git r done” hat.
Recockulous, that’s all I’m sayin’

Agreed. Saw it too - watched with the Drewmiester when he and mommy patrol were visiting. Overall, it was a decent rental (what else did I have to do?) but it was also crap. I said to my brother, “seriously, what are the chances of after she gets beaten in the park that she’s going to be involved in all these other incidents? She’s already been a statistic, it’s unlikely that someone could be in that many situations like that again in such a short span of time….”
NY ain’t that scary……Mark said it was a remake of “Death Wish” with a woman as the main character instead. Haven’t seen the original, not sure if it’s of the same caliber.
