My weekend was filled with Pirates, appliances, burnout & scrubs, oh my! On Saturday it was HSD (hawaiian shirt day) Omaha style. No pictures because I’m a bum and I forgot my camera. Myself, Rock, Bullwinkle and some others saw Pirates: AWE and it was awesome. Much better then the 2nd but the 1st is still my favorite. Afterwards it was off to Mongolian BBQ. No Brazillian steak houses here.
Sunday I went down to the Nebraska Furniture Mart which is kinda like Ikea and Best Buy in one big warehouse. I needed to pick up a washer, a dryer, a fridge, a mattress and a bedroom set for the new homestead. The NFM is an odd place. I’ve been there a few times and each time when I’m alone not one sales men will talk to me. If I’m there with another guy they pounce like lions. On Sunday, I took advantage of my alone time to price out some models I wanted. This young punk had walked by me 3 times, I even made eye contact and still didn’t say anything. Finally, a much older guy (like my grampa) name Melvin came in from the outside and asked if I needed any help. I rattled off my list and the young punk from earlier was walking by again, and he actually stumbled. I could see actual dollar signs escaping his pea sized brain. Bastard. Yeah, I made Melvin’s day. I had all the model numbers of the stuff I wanted, I just needed a little more info and a sales rep. After the sale, he looked so happy. My good deed for the day. After throwing myself into more dept (I was under budget by 400. not bad) I went home and started watching Scrubs from the beginning. I never watched it while it aired, so I’m catching up over the summer.
On Monday, Rock came over and he made dinner. (Made as in took meat and placed on grill with open flame) and we played Burnout: Revenge all day and all the night. Happy Holiday to me.
