I Come From Laos

The (so-called)life and (not so much)crimes of a NJ girl at heart, who grow up in the big VA and is now stuck in the Midwest who apparently comes from Laos.  Here you will find my ramblings on life, shiny things, movies, video games & how I long for some good lo mein.

RAL(random Asian lady): Where are you from?
Me: uhm, here?
RAL: No, where are you originally from?
Me: Here. I’m American
RAL: mmmmm. You do not look American, I was thinking you come from Laos
Me: No. Born and raised right here in America
RAL: Where are your parents from?
Me: Also both American
RAL: Wow. You’re so pretty. Are you mixed?
Me: No, both my parents are black.
RAL: Really!? You do not *look* like you come from black!
